BROCCOLI-ONION DELUXE

- Ingredients:

- 1 pound broccoli
- 1 pound white onions
- 1/4 cup butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3 ounces cream cheese
- 1/2 cup sharp American cheese, shredded
- 1 cup soft bread crumbs
- 1 cup milk

- Directions:
- Cut up fresh broccoli and cook in boiling salted water till
crisp-tender. Drain. Cook onions in boiling salted water till tender. Drain
- In saucepan melt half the butter, blend in flour, salt and dash of
pepper. Add milk. Cook, stirring constantly, till thickened and bubbly.
Reduce heat and blend in cream cheese till smooth.
- Place vegetable in 1 1/2 quart casserole. Pour sauce mixture over and
mix lightly. Top with American cheese. Melt remaining butter and toss with
bread crumbs. Sprinkle atop casserole.
- Bake 350! for 40-45 minutes till heated through.
Optional: Stir in 1 package Herb-ox chicken
broth seasoning packets into cream cheese mixture.
